Peruvian taste buds
Peru is a state of vivacious food, and its taste buds are
one of the biggest reasons to visit Peru. The aroma of fresh seafood and fish
is mingled with the air in the coastal regions of Northern Peru. The local food
recipes are dominated by fish flavored with lime. A glimpse of Spanish culinary
traditions can also be seen. Some constituent of
traditional recipes are maize, Ají, oca, ulluco, avocado, potato and fruits
like chirimoya, lúcuma etc. Rice with seafood sauce and fish broath is the most
loved plate here. Often these are a combination of oysters, swordfish, crabs
and prawns etc. Mangrovian black shells are also a hit.
Some fascinating Peruvian recipes:
Noche de Bodas: a fish broth concentrate, will reach the
core of your heat.
Ceviche de Pescado: a preparation of white fish in the juice
of lime, garlic and jalapeno peppers.
Ceviche de Conchas
Negras: a preparation of black shells which is marinated in lime, with the
icing of onion
Limo Ají de Langostinos: a super delicious meal of prawns
dipped in grated bread sauce
Majarisco a seafood sauce which has a delicacy of being
served on a base of trodden green bananas
Typical food of northern Peru does not stop at only fish;
other animals like chicken and beef are also served with specific local pepper
tinge. A very favorite Peruvian dish is a main course of Arroz con Pollo,
chicken breast cooked in olive oil. Lomo Saltado, a beef preparation and Arroz
Tapado, a tempting combo of rice, eggs and olive oil fulfills the taste desires
of a food lover. For a sweet tooth, a fabulous dessert is waiting, Leche Asada,
a delicious mix of condensed milk, evaporated milk and eggs. A traditional
preparation and a witness of historical Peru, Pisco Sour, a drink delicacy
prepared in Peruvian Brandy lavishes the Peruvian cuisine.
Typical food of
northern Peru is full of vibrant cuisines.
