Oakmont: toughest golf play


It is called a toughest golf course by many well-known faces of golf. This course was designed by Henry Fownes and opened in 1903. It is listed on 8th position in the list of the best golf courses. With the average rating of 77.36, it is one of the most dried and dessert course of United States.

Oakmount golf course expands in a large area with heaving greenery. The tree plantation was done here around 1950. By a popular Golf Digest, it was rated in the best five golf courses, in the world. Oakmount hosted a vast range of tournaments, some of which are U.S. Amateur of 1938 and 1919 and PGA Championship of 1922. This course has been a generous host of U.S. Open Championships from 1919 to 2010, and it is also booked for the next U.S. Open for 2016.

Oakmount is located in the periphery of Plum and Oakmont, in Pennsylvania, USA. This, one of the best golf courses, comprises of mixture of various types of trees, shrubs and grasses surrounded by at least 200 bunkers. It is an 18 hole Course expanded in a region of 6921 yards.
